New Captains and Vice Captains

Club Championships
Well done to all the swimmers who participated in this year's annual club championships. There was some really good races / times achieved. The club would also like to thank the Mayor and Mayoress of Burnham and Highbridge (Cllr Michael Clarke and his wife Maria) for making the presentations this year.

Christmas Party
All Length swimmers will be invited to the Christmas Party to take place on Thursday 22nd December from 7.30pm. Please bring some food and drink to go on the Party Table. Sarah is already planning some fun relays etc for this event. If you are available to help on poolside or the foyer area during this event please see Sarah.
Christmas Break
There will be No swimming on the following dates: 27th and 29th December 2011.
Somerset Championships
Please find information on the club's notice board if you would like to enter the Somerset championships. If you have any questions regarding this please see Sarah. Closing date is the beginning of January.
Somerset Masters
Well done to the following swimmers who represented Burnham on Sea Sc at the recent Somerset inter County Masters Championships: Nic Puddy, Sara Hudghton and Greg Kyd.
Timekeepers Course (National Qualification)
The club would like to hold a Timekeepers course starting in January. If you are interested please see Sarah or Pat. Entry Age is 16yrs and over.New Captains and Vice Captains
August / September News
The Poolside team would like to welcome back the swimmers after their summer break.
Annual General Meeting
This year's Annual General Meeting will be held on 17th October 2011 at Burnham Community Centre, Starting at 7.30pm. It will include a report on what the club has done this year, in the pool and financially, future plans for the club for 2012. Presentations to the new captains and vice captains for 2011/2012.
Voting for Captains
This year the voting for captains will be different, from September full membership swimmers will have the opportunity to fill in a nomination form for the role of captain and vice captain. The swimmer needs to be aged 14 years and over from 1st October 2011. Your nomination forms will then be put to a panel and winners will be announced at the Annual General Meeting on 17th Oct.
Poolside Helpers
From September 2011, swimmers aged 13yrs and over will have the opportunity to help on poolside under supervision. Last year some of the classes had too many people helping and it was hard to give them something to do. So this season I am limiting the number to a maximum of 5 people per session, One on each lane and one helping with stroke work etc. We are also after some assistants to help in the learn to swim section of the club. Please see the notice board for more information or See Sarah.
Parents to Help
We have vacancies in our learn to swim section and length section for any parents who would like to help and learn more skills and finally complete a level one course in either Teaching or Coaching. See Sarah or Pat for more info.
Sponsored Swim
So far the club has only received a few swimmers sponsored swim money if you still have your collected money. Please can you bring it to the pool your first week back at swimming.
Badges
Congratulations to all the swimmers who have participated this summer in gaining a distance, diving or challenge badge. The next badge nights will be February. If you have not yet collected your badges please see Pat.
Civic Award
Congratulations to Pat, David and Sarah Pusill for receiving Burnham and Highbridge Civic Award for service given to Burnham on Sea Swimming Club. (Pat and David 30 Years and Sarah 22 years) . The Pusill family would like to thank everyone over the past and present years for all there help and support.
Club Championships
In September swimmers will be receiving their entry forms for our annual club championships. Swimmers are recommended to enter all event unless there teacher/coach states. This is a very important gala as Sarah and Pat then selects swimmers to represent Burnham from these times.
Hoodies and Tracksuit tops
Pat is now taking orders for new Hoodies and Tracksuit tops ready for Christmas.
